About the Council on Academic Affairs

The Council on Academic Affairs is a committee of the Office of Academic Affairs

The Council on Academic Affairs (CAA) is the major policy-making body for the academic programs of Eastern Kentucky University. The council processes, reviews, and votes on the approval or disapproval of curriculum changes including new courses, course revisions, course deactivations, new programs, program revisions, program suspensions, new policies, and policy revisions. Major actions of the Council are reviewed by the Faculty Senate and subsequently presented to the President of the University and the Board of Regents for final approval.

 Membership

Council membership is comprised of the associate deans of the academic colleges, Special Assistant to the Provost (University Diversity), the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Associate Vice President for University Programs, the Dean of Libraries, the Registrar, chair of the Faculty Senate, Chair of Chairs Association, Associate Vice President for Research and Dean of Graduate School, and Director of Admissions (ex officio), and the Student Government President.
