Background:

Adding this category will benefit students with a Religion minor by ensuring that they have at least one course that examines religious issues from a theoretical perspective. It will also strengthen enrollment in future sections of REL 302 and PHI 240. Revising the format of the description of Religion Minor will make it more streamlined and bring it into conformity with the description of minors in other humanities departments, i.e., English and Humanities.

Issues:

Add a required 3 credit hours to the Religion minor from a category of courses focusing on theoretical approaches to the study of religion that includes as options REL 302, Theories of Religion, and PHI 240, Philosophy of Religion. This revises the format of the description of Religion Minor.
