Students in the general studies programs for the College of Arts and Sciences do not have an applied learning course unless they are able to take a departmental course. Previously, general studies students could take GSD 349, but that responsibility has been moved to the separate colleges. A number of the departments in the College of Arts and Sciences do not have applied learning courses, so having a college level course will allow more students to complete applied learning/internships. Undergraduate students that have had an internship show a higher rate of employment after graduation.
